STATEMENTS AND LETTERS
Congratulatory telegram of president Áder János to Milos Zeman, president of the Czech Republic
President of the Czech Republic
I was pleased to receive the news that you were elected to be the Head of State during the first direct presidential elections in the history of the Czech Republic. Permit me on this occasion to express my most sincere congratulations and to send my warmest wishes.
As the President of the Republic of Hungary, I consider it important to preserve and to develop the deep friendship of the Hungarian and Czech people, the recognition of each other as honorary neighbours. I am on the opinion that the tradition of good relations between our countries and our aspirations built on mutually shared European values provide an excellent opportunity to develop our bilateral cooperation, as well as our relations in the framework of the Visegrád Four and the European Union.
Mr President, I hope that we will be able to continue the dialogue we started more than a decade ago with a view to promoting these objectives.
Mr President, permit me to avail myself of this opportunity to wish you a lot of success, good luck and good health for your responsible work.
On behalf of the Hungarian people, I would like to ask Your Excellency to accept the assurance of my highest considerations and esteem.
President of the Republic of Hungary
